A really good game against Welton U12’s on Friday night. The passing from both sides in the first half was exceptional and we deserved to be 3-0 up at half-time. A game of two halves was an understatement though as the U12’s came back to nick it 5-4 in the last few minutes. Joseph scored an excellent couple of goals and even Billy nicked one in the second half! The Man of the Match went to Sam Reeve for his is very solid defensive display in the first half. We will organise this match again before the end of the season as the lads learnt a lot from playing against the older boys.
Sunday 2nd Nov – Horncastle Away – 10.45 am Kick-off
This is always a great friendly place to go, made even better this time by the fact their club house is finished and the lads are invited back for free chips after the game – it would be rude not too! Firstly we must overcome a much improved side and expect a good game after our narrow win against them pre-season. Everyone should know the way but just in case the address is The Wong, Boston Road, Horncastle, LN9 6EL. Unless anyone tells us otherwise we have a full squad to choose from.
Sunday 9th Nov – Wyberton Home – 10.45am Kick-off
This will be a very tough and physical game so we expect the lads to show good discipline and play the excellent passing game they are capable of. Wyberton beat our Arrows team 3-1 a couple of weeks ago and we will be without Alfie in goal, I think James has volunteered to go in goal so far! The landlord of the Dambusters Inn, Greg, has invited the lads back to the pub for Hot dogs and chips after the game. Hopefully everyone will be able to make it for 1/2 hour or so to have a drink and look around the pub, great for those Dambusters and WW2 memorabilia buffs! Please let us know if you can’t make it.
Lastly, hope everyone who is going to the Stoke vs West Ham game this Saturday has a great time. Looks like its going to be a really good day out!
See you all at training on Thursday night.
