Welton Bombers U11 News – 7th Oct 14

A very well deserved win for the boys on Sunday. They needed to battle hard in the first half to get on top but once there they started to play some nice football. The defence in particular kept their discipline for the whole game giving Alfie little to do in the second half and the lads are hopefully learning that stopping goals can be as rewarding as scoring them (nearly!).

Sun 12th Oct – Navenby Juniors Away – 10.45am Kick-Off
You should have all received a text about this game, if not a few details.
The play at the address below and seem a well run FA chartered club. We don’t know much about the team as they do not play in the Lincs league but they had a friendly against Metheringham the other week and beat them i.e It will probably be a tough test!!

We are only aware of Alfie being unavailable so please let us know ASAP if you cannot make it. This will also be a good chance for Matthew to have a game. He is only joining us for training this season but will be an opportunity for him to experience a match.

At the moment our next league game will not be until Sunday 2nd Nov away at Horncastle unless we can arrange another friendly in the next couple of weeks. We will let you know as soon as anything comes up.

Most of you are probably aware that all our fixtures/league table/individual player stats etc are all available at http://www.midlincs.com/index.php/en/fixres
This may also be of interest to the lads as it shows we are currently top of the league and we have 4 players in the Top 15 of all the players in our league. With us taking an ‘international’ league break for a month though I expect this will look a little different by the Horncastle game – enjoy while we can and try to get back amongst the goals against Horncastle!

See you all at training this Thursday, Dave/Adam.
