Welton Bombers U7 News 20th April

This week saw the boys last game of the season and our game was against our fellow Welton Team the Arrows. The boys showed just how much progress they have made this season by holding there own for a large part of the game. The boys were set the target of a goal in each half and were unlucky in the first not to get a goal. Some spirited play in the second half saw the boys get a deserved goal scored by Oliver Grocock who also finished the game as Player of the Match for the second week running.

Matt,Matthew and myself would like to congratulate the boys on a great first season, but also a huge thank you to all the parents for supporting us on our learning journey as coaches by bringing the boys to training and games week in week out.

We would also like to thank the ladies for organising the raffle every week.

Once again thank you and see you all at training on Friday’s at Manor Park.

Louth vs Welton Bombers Team News 15th April 15

Well I doubt the lads have played in a bigger game than the one they have away at Louth at 6pm tomorrow. After their virtually flawless performance against Metheringham last Thursday a win tomorrow would put them as very strong favourites for an automatic promotion position.

To give the lads their best chance of being ready for game please be there before 5.30pm. Louth play at The Pavillion, London Road, Louth, LN11 9QP. The starting line-up is shown below and Edward will be captain.
Our final game is away at Grimsby, 12.30pm kick-off on Sunday 19th. We have not been there before and their address is Bradley Playing Fields, Bradley Road, Grimsby, DN27 0AG. Not wanting to get too carried away but if the lads win both games they will finish joint top of the league with Wyberton and they will have a play-off final with the winner going up as champions. Who would have thought it 8 months ago!

Let’s all really get behind the boys for the last 2 games as we have done all season and see if we can push them over the line.

See you all tomorrow. Dave

Bombers U7 News 13th April.

A tough game for the boys this week in very blustery conditions against North Lindum Hawks. The boys had a bit of an off week this week maybe due to the break from games we had lately. The boys played some good passing football in spurts but we didn’t match our opponents this week unfortunately losing 8-0.

Player of the match this week went to Oliver Grocock who didn’t stop running and getting stuck in from the first whistle.

Welton Bombers Team News – 7th Apr 15

Well, this is the final run in and so much to play for!! We are only 1 point from 2nd spot and with the chance that 3 teams and maybe even 4 will get promoted, the lads have given timeselves a chance to achieve something very special in only their second season (some their first!).
This Thursday’s home game against Metheringham is therefore very important and we are going to give the lads the best chance of getting something out of the game. The starting line-up is as below. image
The kick-off is 6pm but please try to be there for before 5.30pm so we can get the lads prepared for the game.
Only Will is unavailable for this game but we should have a full squad to select from for the last 2 games.
See you all on Thursday, Dave
